Counter Argument

Is there such a thing as an anti-portrait?

When you first walk into a store and see the person behind the counter, your initial impression is all you have. The scene is rarely controlled by them -- often even the clothes they wear has been decided by someone else. So little of of who they are is actually on display. The relationship between the employee and the customer constrains our reaction even further. Our impressions and reactions tells us as much about us as it does about them.
